07-29-2016 – Philadelphia (Part 2/2)
Independence Hall
Tickets are not required to enter the Independence Hall after 5pm daily. If you couldn’t get a ticket early enough in the day, just come to the hall after 5. I got here a bit earlier than 5, but it still took me around 40 minutes to get through security screening and waiting in line to get in because they only take 70 people at a time for the guided tour (a guided tour is mandatory to enter the building).
The furniture setting was recreated to show where and how both the United States Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated and adopted.
The Independence Hall is pretty small, as it was not intended for hosting a lot of people. In fact, it was just a city hall back then. The guided tour only lasts for around 15 minutes, but it is informational and resourceful. The national park ranger is knowledgeable at part of the history.
