What’s for breakfast? Macha Ice Creamu!
Iccoca was causing some problems here in Hiroshima (probably because I forgot to tag off when I was getting off the street car.) After we got off the the street car, we transfered to a boat to Itsukushima, the beautiful island where the water shrine is located!
Hello, Mr. Deer!
Water shrine! Later in the day, the water would cover up the bottom of the shrine.
Because we thought we were young and energetic, we made stupid choices, well not too stupid, of hiking up the hill.
Japanese people are really kind to one another. As we meet other hikers, we greeted each other with “Gonichiwa.” I felt really energentic after each greeting. It’s like them asking me “Ogenki desuka?” and telling me “it’s almost there. keep it up!”
Photogenic Anais
Jane gave up here because she didn’t have her ashma medication with her. We didn’t want to risk it, but kept hiking up. Sorry, Jane!
We finally reached the top of the hill, and our legs were involuntary shaking. It felt great though because I felt like I achieved something haha. (We had a lot of “peer” pressure from the grandpa, grandma hikers ;p They were expert hikers, and I wanted to keep up with them)
Because of our eagerness, we decided to hike back down the hill. It took a lot more energy to hike down, and our legs shook even more vibrantly haha
To reward ourselves for such an achievement, we were getting OOOOYYYYYYSSTTTTEEEERRRRRRRR! ICHIBANN OOOIIIIISHHHIIIIIIIIII!
Baby deer checking out the surrounding
Creepy Horse (No idea why it’s there except for the creepiness)
Unagi Rice + Soba
Momiji (Famous Hiroshima Omiyage)
Little Clay Doll Buddhas
The locals believe that these hat would keep them warm and I think there is some fairytale about the Buddha repaying as well.
We wanted to see the water reclined to the level which covers the shrine with the sunset (wow such a beautiful scenery!)
