Himeji – Himeji Castle 姫路城

2015-05-31 (Himeji)

First time coming to Himeji, one of the major castles in Japan. It was once owned by a Japanese emperor as this was a capital city.

Took us almost 2 hours (or more?) to get to Himeji

Himeji is a bit further out of the Osaka Prefecture.

Tips: It’s a little bit cheaper (and faster!) to go by local train than taking the JR.
Hankyu to Kobe Sanomiya then take Hanshin to Himeji. It would save you a couple hundred yen and a couple minutes.
Google sometimes don’t show this route.

Himeji Castle

Unlike the Osaka Castle, this is a REAL CASTLE with no air conidtioning and elevator! haha now every time when I think of the Osaka Castle, I would burst into laugh because it was just a replica of the original castle, but people who don’t know that would be amused by the intelligence of the architects in the past who built everything that only exists in this century (Fire Alarms, Elevators, Air Conditionings) haha!
