Copenhagen, Denmark
Viking Ship Museum (Vikingeskibsmuseet)
The museum displays five exacavated Viking ships deliberately sunk almost a millenium ago to block and defend the fjord of Roskilde.
Had a really good danish flatbread for lunch. I still don’t really get why tap water is being charged.
The museum was mostly outdoor. There were a lot of boats and ships and renovations of ships going on. I really liked the museum but I felt like I was kinda small.
Since I had some extra time , I went to the world heritage church nearby as well. Many of the royal families were actually buried here and there were displays of their covens. An interesting church!
Roskilde Cathedral (Roskilde Domkirke)
This magnificent Gothic cathedral has served as a burial site for Danish monarchs since the 15th century. It’s listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
New Port of Copenhagen (Nyhavn)
The iconic sight of the city. A narrow port full of beautiful ships from the old times, lined by rows of colourful buildings.
Heading to the beach!
Bellevue Beach (Bellevue Strand)
Perhaps the most popular beach in Denmark with over 700,000 visitors each year, it offers fine sand and picturesque lifeguard towers and kiosks.
But the time I got there was already winter. No one was there.
