2017-01-15 Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge
Wind! Wind! Wind! It was super windy. The weather isn’t what I was expecting, but at least it wasn’t pouring.
Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge
Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is a famous rope bridge near Ballintoy in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The bridge links the mainland to the tiny island of Carrickarede. It spans 20 meters and is 30 meters above the rocks below.
The admission is included in the bus tour. Since it is only 20-30m above the ground, it wasn’t actually that scary compared to the Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver. It was the wind that makes you feel like you are being blown away. Luckily, the wind isn’t strong enough that day, but the park ranger had to constantly check on the wind speed and decide when to shut down the bridge.
