Woke up super early to get on the 7am train. Terrible idea to take a train this early in the morning.
I barely slept yesterday, talking toy roommate til 3 am. I think I got a food poisoning as soon as I woke up, and I had to get to the train station anyway.
Because of that it took me longer than I expected to get to the train station, yet not all the entrances were open in the morning. I literally had to walk around the whole station to get into one that was open. Agh…
Terrible mistake #2: I booked a beach hostel when it was literally the worst season to go to the beach
The hostel had some distance away from the city center, where most of the attractions are located in. That wasn’t a huge problem because the subway system in Barcelona was quite nice and efficient, but it certainly defeated the purpose of staying in a beach hostel.
When I checked in, the hostel was deadly quiet. No one was there. Huge mistake.
Anyway, after I checked in, I just took the train and walked around the city … in rain.
Palau de la Música Catalana
Art nouveau concert hall known for its ornate facade & opulent auditorium with stained-glass dome.
Santa Caterina Market (Mercat de Santa Caterina)
One side of the market, there is a historic site exhibition. I thought the market would be more like the market I went in Madrid, but apparently the market here is not for tapas. It only sells fresh food here.
This is the old town
Sagrada Familia
Got there too late. We just got to walk around the chapel.
Dinner at the hostel
Even though this pasta version of payalla should be pretty amazing, I felt like had food poisoning since this morning and I didn’t really have appetite to enjoy it D:
