First time going to Japan, this is so exciting!!
Breakfast
Arrived in Narita International Airport
The smell of Japan!
Since Narita is pretty far away from the city center of Tokyo, I gotta take the express train to get to Tokyo Station, then transfer to Shinjuku, where I am staying for the night.
Japanese vending machines are so fancy! They even have hot beverage options!
Waiting room for trains
Inside the train
One really crazy idea about these trains is that you can’t get into a wrong car because some of the cars would go in different directions in the middle of the journey.
Luckily, Tokyo is not too bad for foreigners to navigate as there are enough English signs around.
Hilarious Japanese commercials (There are TVs on trains!!)
My favorite Yoshinoya in Shinjuku!
Yoshinoyas in Japan are so different from the ones in the US or in Hong Kong.
There’s no counter that you can order from. First, you go in; pick a seat. Then, you would be greeted by a cup of hot green tea, and that’s your chance to order. Since I looked so Asian, the server automatically assumed that I speak perfect Japanese. LOL
As a matter of fact, my Japanese is not that good, but I used my so limited Japanese to order a beef rice bowl set! (Mission Accomplished!)
My Airbnb was right in the center of Shinjuku, so I walked around the area before I walked back.
Japan has some interesting advertising strategies. One of them is the music trucks. What are those trucks?
They are basically trucks with huge posters that run around the central areas where most people walk by and play whatever they want to promote repeatedly.
